These guidelines govern the use of Homeland Jobs platform, bidding limits, escrow contracts, and marketplace seller conduct.
Freelance Bidding & Active Project Capping Rules
To maintain high quality work standards across East Africa, freelancers may submit bids on open listings, but are strictly limited to a maximum of two (2) active ongoing tasks or one (1) active ongoing full job at any given time. Once two task proposals or one job proposal are accepted and active contracts commence, bidding privileges are paused until active milestones are completed.
M-Pesa Escrow & Milestone Funding
Employers agree that contract funds must be deposited into Homeland Escrow prior to work commencement. Funds are released to the freelancer's M-Pesa or bank account upon successful milestone sign-off by the employer or resolution of disputes.
Homeland Marketplace Seller Code of Conduct
Sellers operating storefronts on Homeland Marketplace must ensure accurate product descriptions, clear pricing in supported currencies, and honest stock counts. Fraudulent listings, counterfeit goods, or failure to fulfill orders result in permanent shop suspension.
LMS Certification & Intellectual Property
Certificates issued via Homeland Academy are verifiable digital credentials. Platform users retain full ownership of intellectual property created under funded contracts once final payment is cleared.
Privacy Policy & User Data Rights
We respect your privacy and process personal data in compliance with regional Data Protection Acts (Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, EAC Data Directives).
Data Collection & Usage
We collect your name, phone number, email address, profile skills, and payment credentials solely to facilitate contracts, account security, LMS enrollments, and marketplace order fulfillment. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
Your Rights: Export & Deletion
You hold complete ownership over your data. Under your Account Profile Settings, you can download a complete JSON export of all your contracts, proposals, and stored information, or submit a request for permanent account deletion.
